The plans for Webelos Woods have been altered. Due to the risk of weather there will not be any overnight camping allowed TONIGHT ONLY at John Nichols.
The program will run as normal tomorrow and begin at 8:40am. Check-in for arrivals tomorrow will begin at 7:30am.
A decision as to whether or not camping will be allowed Saturday evening will be made tomorrow afternoon.
Have a safe evening and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning.

Webelos Woods will happen as planned. We will monitor the weather and keep those that attend informed.
To help ease your mind, John Nichols has 17 in-ground storm shelters that will hold 25 people each for a total of 425 people. There will be around 250 Scouts and Scouters in attendance so we will have plenty of elbow room. You can watch a story about them below.
We hope you will make it, but please do not feel obligated to attend. If this changes, watch www.badenpowellok.org for more information.

Stay Informed about the Kittakima Chapter, OA through Tweets to your Text Inbox!
The Kittakima Chapter has started text alerts to remind you of upcoming National, Sectional, Lodge, and Chapter Events. It’s easy to get these alerts, text “Follow KittakimaOA” to 40404.
Twitter is the program being used to send out these text updates and “following” the chapter doesn’t give you a Twitter account or any obligation. Basically, all “Tweets” by the chapter will be forwarded to your texting inbox. You should receive a message saying that you are now following “KittakimaOA” soon after you text the above statement to 40404. The first test of the system worked flawlessly. Some devices were asked for the individual to setup an account, but it’s not required and works without an account.

The Baden Powell District will be hosting the annual Octoberfest Activities on October 10, 2011. Octoberfest is a great opportunity for troops to show off their scout skills to the Webelos of Baden Powell.
For Webelos, Octoberfest allows cubs to visit the different troops in the Baden Powell district and learn more about the individual programs provided by each troop. Webelos have a chance to interact with the older scouts and learn a few scout skills. This will also satisfy the Arrow of Light requirement of participating in an outdoor Boy Scout oriented event.
Octoberfest will take place on October 10, 2011 at Sportsman’s Country Club located at 4001 NW 39th Expressway. Packs can bring their Webelos at 7:00 PM for a night of fun and activities.
Troops: This event is a great recruitment opportunity. Troops can arrive NO EARLIER than 5:00 PM to begin setting up. The B-P District Committee will enforce the 5:00 PM rule. We do not wish to jeopardize our long-term relationship as we allow each unit the same time window for preparations. B-P personnel will be on-site to assist.
